BSA Troop 338 is a newly charted group of girls ages 11-18 years old. We currently have 6 members ranging in age from 11-16 years and are looking forward to growing this Troop. However, forming a new troop comes with many costs and we appreciate the Scouters of Holmes County for sponsoring our organization, but there is a financial burden to families of Scouts. A new uniform alone can cost $80, membership fees have doubled to $60 per year, a book is $18, a typical campout costs 10-15$, a single badge costs on average $2.00 and a week at Scout camp costs $375.
Members of Troop 338 have dreams of becoming Doctors, Lawyers, Veterinarians, Entomologists, Artists and so much more and Scouting helps them explore many different areas through Merit Badge work. The girls have earned their Plumbing, Transportation and Artist Merit badges since the conception of the Troop in the Fall of 2019. These girls are go-getters and we will be lucky to have them as participating adults in our community.
Not only does Scouting let members explore different interests and careers, it teaches them Respect, Discipline and Goal driven skills. Scouting gives our youth the basis for being productive members of our community.
The members of Troop 338 of Holmes County would greatly appreciate any monetary donation. Your generosity will fuel the minds and spirits of our future leaders!
