This is the event that launched a personal challenge to complete 40 events for 40 non-profits over the next year and launched the FIT 40 Radio Podcast to chronicle it all!
It was during last year's Cape Cod Bay Challenge that I had nine and a half hours standing on my paddleboard making my way across the bay with 50 other paddlers to contemplate the experience. It combined an element of challenge, risk, athletic conditioning, and it all benefited a great cause that makes daily life just a little bit easier for kids and their families battling cancer. Over the next few months after that paddle, the idea to try to complete 40 such events in celebration of my 40th birthday began to solidify.
This year we watched family members endure aggressive cancer treatment. It was hard to watch adults go through these treatments in the comfort of their own home. But for many of the families at Christopher's Haven, they are coming from far away to give their kids the best shot of survival with the best care possible from groundbreaking oncologists in Boston. Christopher's Haven gives them a space to call home and people to call family.
Please join me in supporting the work that Christopher's Haven does to create a home away from home for kids undergoing cancer treatment in Boston.
