Birch Community Services is in desperate need of a new truck.
Six days a week, nine hours a day, BCS staff and volunteers pick up food from across the Portland Metro area to provide for the almost 600 families enrolled in Birch's Sustainable Families Program focusing on financial literacy, but also about 70 other nonprofits consisting of food pantries and shelters, reaching about 15,000 people each week.
Our two trucks are in the shop, on average, once a week. Also, our current trucks have a limited weight capacity. A new truck would not only keep us out of the repair shop, but also be able to haul more food and household items in one load than our current trucks.
Thank you for your support!
