At Brown & Brown of Washington, Inc, it’s time for our annual Tacoma food drive! This year, possibly more than ever, we ask for your help in supporting our community to provide much needed food for those in need. With the current pandemic making it difficult to rally inside our offices to gather food items, we are providing the opportunity to help via GoFundMe.
We are very proud to support Food Lifeline in their mission to end hunger in Western Washington. Distributing nutritious food through partnerships with 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs, this amazing organization provides the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day! But their work doesn’t stop there. They work to end hunger for the future by addressing its root causes through advocacy efforts to shape local, state, and federal policy, partnering with organizations that are addressing other causes of poverty, and through community engagement and mobilization efforts.
With our deep roots in our community that date back to 1888, community involvement is engrained in our culture. Developed by our teammates, one of our six philosophy commitments at Brown & Brown – Tacoma is “We contribute our resources to the communities in which we live and work”. We do this through volunteer time and participation in community events, Board Service to many non-profits, and Corporate contributions. Teammates are also provided a matching volunteer time and matching funds program!
Our Tangle C Committee (Culture of Community) works diligently throughout the year to provide volunteer opportunities and fundraising activities to our teammates. One of our recent food drives yielded 3,542 food items accompanied by a donation of $650. Not bad for a team of 40!
Please join us this year and help us to reach our goal of $1,000 for Food Lifeline by Monday, November 30, 2020!
