We are reaching out to the community for financial support for all 18 Bronx Land Trust Gardens. All of our gardens were slated for sale by the city in 1999, which would have led to their certain demolition. Today these 18 vibrant, thriving gardens are owned and managed by the Bronx Land Trust. The Bronx Land Trust is a nonprofit organization established by gardeners to support and sustain community gardening throughout the Bronx. Our mission is to preserve, improve, and promote community managed open spaces for the benefit of all.
COVID19 has affected us all. Especially now funding the gardens has been a struggle as most of event and operations in the gardens were being personally funded by community members. We are asking for financial support to gain funds for insurance of all 18 gardens. Without the payment of the group insurance we cannot legally keep open the gates of our gardens. The closure of our gardens will lead to less green space access for our communities, no access to garden boxes for individual food growth and less community space that can always be used for safe gatherings and mutual aid distributions.
Any extra funding will go towards water bills, maintanance, and tools needed for our gardens to operate. No donation is too small and we are asking the community to please share on all forms of social media.

Please reach out to Anthony Ave Garden if you want to participate in other forms of fundraising (ex. Raffles, vending etc.). You can email email@example.com if you have any fundraising proposals with the subject "Fundraising".
Thank you so much for donating and the continued community support!
