Why I'm Running the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile
This year just a few weeks before my 35th birthday, I ran my first 5K. This was tremendous considering that weeks before I could barely run a mile without gasping for air. This month I just completed my 5th race, including a 4 Mile in Central Park.
On Sunday, September 30th, 2018, I will compete in the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile race, taking me through the West Bronx from Yankee Stadium all the way up Grand Concourse to my neighborhood, Bedford Park and Mosholu Parkway.
I'm pumped to not only challenge myself physically and mentally, but to represent my Northwest Bronx community. I wanted to use this opportunity to raise money for a community organization that has helps hundreds of people in the West Bronx remain in the homes, West Bronx Housing and Neighborhood Resource Center. Every dollar donated will go to strengthen our Bronx communities.
Come to Grand Concourse or the finish line near Yankee Stadium to cheer me on or track my progress on the big day here.
