I'm excited to run the Lincoln Half Marathon for the 4th year in a row on team Project Purple!!!!! It's a month until race day and I'm more ready than ever to run a great time for a fantastic cause.
I started running for Project Purple before I had a connection to the disease but it became even more important to me after my Grandma passed away in 2017 of pancreatic cancer. I have enjoyed getting to know more about the orgainzation and have even had the opportunity to become an ambassodar in 2018 and again this year in 219 to help spread awareness. Pancreatic Cancer is a terrible disease that not only needs a cure, it desperately needs an early detection of the disease to help people fight it before it's too late. Project Purple is working hard to fund research even locally at the Univeristy of Nebraska Med Center. They have a paitent aid program to help those struggling financially and send care packages (Blankets of Hope) out to those fighting. Please be sure to check out their website www.projectpurple.org to learn more.
