I will be dedicating my performance at the 2018 Broad Street 10-Mile run on May 6th to my cousin Michelle who was diagnosed last year with acute myeloid leukemia. Michelle has had a challenging diagnosis and treatment plan, but she is resilient and brave. When her body tires, she continues to push forward. Michelle is an inspiration to all those who battle cancer and we are proud beyond words. We are all praying that her treatment will eradicate her cancer so that she can start the process of healing ‘cancer free’.
As you all know, I have a very personal connection with cancer. But I have news for you…. I am not going anywhere! Last year so many of you helped me raise nearly $30,000 for PANCAN…and I am again asking for your help. This year I am hoping to raise $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in support and honor of my cousin, Michelle Kulikowski.
Why raise money for cancer organizations? Will it really help? I can tell you from personal experience the answer is YES! It is imperative to raise funds for cancer organizations like Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because these funds lead to cutting edge treatment options that save lives.
As a survivor I know we cannot control the outcome, but we can control how we battle. When people are knocked down it is imperative that we help them get up. I got knocked down often in my battle and I was supported by hundreds and hundreds of family and friends that would do anything for me and my family. I thank you for your continued support. It is my mission in life to fight cancer head on… to support those who are currently fighting…and to continue the fight for those we have lost.
