Help Bring a Nature Play Area to Milwaukie Bay Park!
Milwaukie Bay Park is a park with a future! After years in the planning and initial development stages, the park’s final financing and design elements are coming together! With the majority of funding already secured, Milwaukie Parks Foundation (MPF) is focused on closing the funding gap. During public comments, the top vote was for a play area that sparked imagination and exploration. To bring that dream to reality, we at MPF have dedicated our fundraising efforts to bringing a nature-play area to this fabulous bay-side location.
Milwaukie Bay Park is located near downtown Milwaukie. Situated alongside the Trolley Trail, near bus lines, and only three blocks from light rail, Milwaukie Bay Park is highly accessible to people throughout the metro area. The downtown area is notably lacking in attractions that invite children to play. The addition of a nature play area creates a centrally located children's gathering place near the heart of the city. Spending time outside and in motion is critical for long-term mental and physical health. A nature play area in Milwaukie Bay Park will be a fun way to engage children with their surroundings. When completed, Milwaukie Bay Park will enhance the lives of Oregonians for miles around!
The Milwaukie Parks Foundation was founded by community members who saw the need for a non-profit organization that could rally the community and support Milwaukie’s parks. Parks are a publicly accessible place for all community members to enjoy. The City of Milwaukie and North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District (NCPRD) have worked tirelessly to bring the community’s vision of Milwaukie Bay Park to life. This is our moment to support completion of this meaningful project that will bring continued enjoyment to park patrons of all ages.
