In honor of National Herb Day, WishGarden Herbal Remedies has accepted our challenge to match all donations to NatureServe, dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,500 to help with our work in conserving black cohosh. Black cohosh (Actaea racemosa) is a perennial herb that is found in Eastern North America, particularly Appalachia, where it resides in a variety of wooded habitats. It can reach a height of eight feet with a smooth, erect stem, and through the summer, the flowers bloom feathery and white into elongated bunches that extend up to two feet.
Currently, black cohosh is at risk of over-harvesting due to increasing use in the medicinal market. Please join NatureServe and WishGarden Herbal Remedies in working to maintain this important herbal population.
WishGarden Herbal Remedies is an environmentally conscientious family business headquartered in Colorado, USA, devoted to helping people achieve good health through the use of natural herbs. They know firsthand the importance of protecting plants for their products, which is why they only use the finest organic and sustainably wild-harvested herbs to make their extracts. At NatureServe, we see this partnership as the perfect synergy between preserving our natural resources and ensuring traditional herbal extracts are made sustainably.
Your generous donation will make it possible for our 1,000+ environmental scientists to continue collecting, curating, and sharing their biodiversity knowledge about black cohosh’s wild population to guide conservation efforts for the herb.
This $2,500 donor match opportunity ends Friday, May 18, so please be sure to give today!
