I have had a passion for running since I was 12, and I am forever thankful for the support I get from my friends, the community, and my family. This year I am incredibly honored and blessed to have the opportunity to run the 2020 Boston Marathon for the 2nd time, and the first time for the Brigham and Women’s Stepping Strong Team.
Brigham and Woman’s Hospital will always hold a special place in my heart. In May 2019, my dad was diagnosed with Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), which kept him in the ICU at BWH for almost 4 months. The care and support that BWH's Trauma, Burn, and Surgical Critical Care team consistently provided us has helped my dad and our family through what felt like the impossible. I am running the 2020 Boston Marathon for my Dad, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and all who have been affected by trauma. The proceeds will be going to BWH’s Division of Trauma, Burn, and Surgical Critical Care.
Please help me reach my goal of $7,500, and of course thank you for the support!
About the Trauma Center:
As a Level I Trauma Center, BWH’s Division of Trauma, Burn, and Surgical Critical Care is recognized for its demonstrated commitment to providing high quality comprehensive care. From the moment a patient walks in the door, a dedicated multidisciplinary team works hard to ensure the patient receives the immediate critical care he or she needs. The Burn team understands that the injury impacts not just the patient, but the patients family, friends, and community. The Brigham Burn Center provides follow-up care for burn victims, monitoring their patients’ healing process and offering specialized care for burn victims that addresses the physical, psychological, and social needs of our patients and their families. The Brigham Burn Center is always open seeing patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting like we have been doing for many decades now. We are passionate about the work we do and we strive to provide high quality and innovative care. All of our staff come to the hospital everyday working hard to be better than the day before.
To remain at the forefront of Trauma Care and continue to make treatment accessible for any patient who comes through the door, BWH’s Burn Center will increasingly rely on philanthropic support from individuals who understand the urgency of the moment and who share our vision for leading the world in the care of patients suffering traumatic injuries. A gift to support the Burn Clinic will make a significant impact on the care that the BWH Burn Program is able to provide and will change the lives of thousands of people around Boston and beyond.
