This year the Bridgewater Fire Hockey Team will be raising money for one of our own, Firefighter Mathew Rich. FF Rich was diagnosed with stage 4 Neoplastic Metastatic Adenocenomia August 2019
The cancer was discovered during a surgery to fix a reoccurring hernia. The doctor advised him to go for a colonoscopy, which found polyps on his colon. He was informed the polyps were cancerous and the cancer had spread. FF Rich went in for surgery August 22nd to remove the cancer, and started Chemo treatments in September. Firefighters, due to the nature of the job are predisposed to many types of cancer. Matt like many other firefighters was unaware that firefighters should be going for colonoscopys as early as the age of 40 years old.
FF Rich has been in the fire service for 22 years , and has been on the Bridgewater Fire Department for 20 years seriving this community. We are proud to raise money and play in honor of our fellow brother and his family. The money will be donated to where Matt is recieiving treartment at Mass General. Please help us support Firefighter Mathew Rich
