Bridge to Turkiye Fund (BTF) is a US based, volunteer run, charitable, non-profit organization that is devoted to helping struggling children in rural Turkey receive a proper education. BTF was built on the values of bettering the lives of children less fortunate than ours and in aiding them realize their full potential. I have been a proud supporter of this benevolent charity since the sixth grade and have proudly raised over two thousand dollars by annually participating in BTF's 5K Run and by hosting a fundraising event at my school. This past summer I visited Southeast Turkey and witnessed firsthand the impoverished conditions these poor children have to live in. Children are forced to sell handcrafted items to tourists, peddle on the streets, and work vigorously to support their family. Many children's families view education as a waste of time and prefer they work for the family. However, if these children never receive a proper education and cannot work better jobs the cycle of poverty is perpetuated and remains unsolved. By providing the families financial relief with an already paid education the child can receive the much needed help to improve their life for the future with better jobs, long term employment, and a steady income. Now, as a sophomore in high school, I aspire to make a bigger impact on these children by improving the prospects of their future by giving them the education they so rightfully deserve. So please, donate to empower these children and to brighten their future. Imagine if your child could not go to college simply because of financial issues, this would dampen the availability of job opportunities similar to how these kids cannot go to school because they lack the money. Be thankful for how lucky we are today that we do not have to continuously worry about money, nor our education, so do the same for these children by spreading the blessing and please donate today.
