This year I am walking the 1/2 marathon in the 2020 LA Marathon Charity Challenge for Teen Cancer America.
As you may know, I had metastatic testicular cancer in 2011. I went into remission shortly thereafter, and then came out of remission three months later with another brain tumor. The radiation treatments worked, but leftover dead tissue caused me to have seizures.
I had as much tissue as possible removed surgically with full knowledge that I would have paralysis on the left side of my body.
I have been cancer free since February of 2012. Life by no means became easier. I had a lot of unresolved issues going into cancer and even more surviving it.
It was all pretty dark until I crossed paths with Teen Cancer America in 2018. I have been participating in their Play It Back Music Program. I have had the opportunity to work with professional musicians to create songs that express some of the things I experienced. This has allowed me to heal and grow in ways I never imagined.
I am walking for Teen Cancer America this March. Please donate if you can. There are so many others out there like me that still need our help.
