Brent believes a strong work ethic and pride in one's job is a key to success. It doesn't matter what that job is, an honest day's work is a source of dignity and personal liberty. Brent also thinks essential jobs are going unfilled in the skilled labor market and will negatively affect this country. This is why he supports the mikeroweWORKS Foundation.
The mikeroweWORKS Foundation is on a mission to help close the skills gap by challenging the stigmas and stereotypes that discourage people from pursuing the millions of available jobs. The Foundation is redefining the definition of a good education and a good job, because they don’t think a four-year degree is the best path for many people. The Foundation wants people to understand the impact of skilled labor on their lives, and they're convinced that the solution has to start with a new appreciation for hard work.
Each year, the mikeroweWORKS Foundation offers the Work Ethic Scholarship Program to help people get trained for skilled jobs that are in demand. The Foundation has proven that opportunities in the trades aren’t alternatives to viable careers – they are viable careers. Through this program, they encourage people to learn a useful skill, and they reward those who demonstrate that they’ll work their butts off. When it comes to hard work, there is no alternative.
