May is ALS Awareness Month and I am running the Willamette Valley Marthon on May 23 in Salem, Oregon in honor of my mom who lost her 12-year battle to ALS in 2018 to raise money for research. An anonymous donor has agreed to match every $1 donated with $2 of their own, up to $5,000 from you and $10,000 from them. Every $1 from you is $3 for research.
I am running on behalf of A Long Swim as a sponsored athlete, a 501(c)(3) co-founded by my mom in 2011. A Long Swim donates all of its proceeds to the Ozdinler ALS Research Lab at Northwestern School of Medicine in Chicago.
ALS is a brutal neurological disease that is always fatal and has no cure. Research can lead to breakthroughs and a cure for not only ALS, but also Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological diseases. If you have known anyone impacted by one of these diseases, please consider a donation.
