The Where Angels Play Foundation has been approached to build a playground on the bay in Lavallette, NJ in honor of an amazing young man, Brendan Tevlin, who was killed in a terrorist attack at the young age of 19 in 2014.
Founded by Bill Lavin, with a construction team made up of volunteers predominantly led by New Jersey Firefighters, the Where Angels Play Foundation to has built 47 playgrounds to date, 14 of which are located in our home state of New Jersey. Inspired by tragic events of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Where Angels Play has found a beautiful way to honor young children who have left us too soon.
Each playground represents the personality and influence of the angel and provides a place of joy for the family and the community. Lavallette, NJ has agreed to partner with Where Angels Play and provide a fantastic, peaceful location along the Jersey shore.
The timeline of when this build will take place will be determined by our fundraising success but our goal is Fall of 2018. As soon as we have reached our goal we can provide a schedule! Please share with your family and friends so we can honor Brendan in the most appropriate way.
