Hi All! First, thank you for taking the time to visit my page! On May 12th, 2018 I will be taking on my 4th Ironman, IRONMAN Santa Rosa ( 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) in honor of the Brendan Looney Foundation.
Brendan Looney from Owings, Maryland, was a three-time letter-winner in lacrosse at the Naval Academy. He began Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in 2007 and graduated his SEALs class’ “Honor Man”, the highest honor a BUD/S graduate can receive. Upon graduating, Brendan was assigned to SEAL Team THREE.
In 2010 Brendan and his Team completed 59 missions in less than 7 months, many of them focused upon helping Afghani civilians, especially children. Sadly, Brendan served his last mission on September 21, 2010 after his helicopter crashed in the mountains of Afghanistan. Brendan believed that giving your all into everything you do is where you discover your best self and your life's purpose. "Working always to better yourself, means giving your best self to others. No regrets."
The Brendan Looney Foundation was established in Brendan’s honor to provide scholarships, veteran assistance programs, awards and grants for those in need. They are presented to individuals that exemplify the values that Navy Seal Brendan Looney embodied: service, honor, integrity and perseverance.
The Brendan Looney Foundation is committed to helping others reach their full potential in honor of the fallen.
Brendan's Core Values:
• Make good choices
• Create goals
• Give 110%
• Work hard in school, on the field and in the workplace
• Help & encourage others
• Give back to community and country
I will be thinking of Brendan and his legacy out on the Santa Rosa course. Please help in supporting this amazing cause and celebrating Brendan's legacy. “Be Strong. Be Accountable. Never Complain.”
I can't thank you enough for your love and generosity, it truly means so much to me.
