My sister, Elise, was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma in November 2017 within a span of two weeks. Through a double mastectomy, scans, doctors appointments, and other forms of treatment, she has faced this obstacle with her usual sense of humor and positive attitude. While she is cancer free!, she is living life as a cancer survivor, which doesn’t mean anxiety or worry free. It is a lifelong battle and a traumatic life change. We will walk to raise funds for breast cancer research so that we can eradicate this disease as well as to support an incredible person and warrior! Please help us by raising money, spreading awareness, sharing this fundraiser, and joining us in the walk! The walk will take place on November 17th, 2018 at 10:30 am in New York City. We will meet at Columbus Circle (59th st and Central Park West) and will be walking to w 96th st (about 2 miles). There will be a quick stop at Strawberry Fields (the John Lennon Memorial) on the way. We hope you will join! Wear pink or bring items to display awareness for breast cancer!
A message from Elise: Unfortunately these stats are true.. 30% of early detection get metastatic disease and of those 99% die. This disease is devastating to our community. Know the facts and get preventive screenings regularly and often especially with a family history! Please pass this message along. It’s still breast cancer awareness month. 💕💕
