On February 20, we are hosting a gathering for immigrants in Berkshire County. Over the evening, we will have a resource fair, dinner, dancing and most importantly, intentional conversations to publicly lift up the voice of immigrants in Berkshire County. The goal of the evening is identify the community's strengths, as well as explore what is not being done for immigrants in our community.
BASIC (Berkshire Aid and Support for the Immigrant Community) is coordinating this evening. BASIC is a network of human and health service agencies and houses of worship that has come together to do what their name suggests: make sure we're providing the basic needs for all to thrive in our community. A huge team has been working hard to get the event ready.
We have received a $2,000 mini-grant from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism to help underwrite the event (Thank you!), and now we need help to get us over the finish line. We need a total $5,500 to make this event happen. Please give whatever you can to make this wonderful gathering a success!
(The evening itself is only for immigrants, but if non-immigrants would like to volunteer for helping tasks --setting up, serving meals, cleaning up, driving, parking, childcare--please contact Becky Meier, firstname.lastname@example.org, 518-929-4664)
