THE ISSUE WE FACE IN NYC

Currently, food shelters are overflowing, government resources are depleting, and a record number of people are out of work. With a slow economy, the continued threat of COVID-19, homelessness on the rise, we are headed towards an unprecedented crisis, leaving community members (primarily People of Color) with the basic need for food and nourishment unmet.

--------------------------------------------------
WHO WE WORK WITH. WHERE WE DELIVER.

Breaking Bread is partnering with a range of organizations throughout the five boroughs. Organizations such as NYC Action Lab and Chi Osse to distribute meals to those with the most need within NYCHA Tenant Association(s) Manhattan, BLM Greater NY, Strategies for Black Lives, NYIC, First Spanish United Methodist, and Take Back the Bronx.

Through Phoenix and Maple Street Community Gardens we provide weekly food boxes to 70 members of Domestic Workers United (DWU), an organization seeking equality and fair labor standards for domestic workers for the last 20 years in New York City⁣⁣.

OUR FOOD PARTNERS

We work with local NY chefs and restaurants that are predominantly owned/run by Black, Brown, and/or Indigenous chefs and business owners, paying them a livable wage to bring healthy meals to vulnerable communities.

We work with The Giving Back Fund (a 501c3 organization) as our fiscal sponsor.
