The 13th Annual Walk of Remembrance and Hope was the first Heartstrings event in which my friends and I participated in to honour our babies. On walk day, filled with mixed emotions we took the first step in what would be the longest mile. There seemed to be no strangers on that day just one big family and more hugs than words. Although, my husband and I found Heartstrings three years after our first miscarriage; just knowing that such an organization existed brought us comfort. The Heartstrings community is indeed a special place where grief is validated and hope is celebrated!
I don’t know the impact that this walk will have on you, I’m simply asking you to walk with me…
“Come walk with me because my heart needs company on this journey and yours does too, Don’t overthink it, it’s simple if you walk with me…..I’ll walk with you, If on our path you get overwhelmed just take my hand knowing you’re not alone, Trust me it’s heavy to carry the weight of love when loss took your babies on, We may need to lean on each other, share words of strength, maybe shed a tear or two, It doesn’t matter how you release it let your heart do what it needs to do, We will never forget our babies carrying them daily in our hearts, I’m not saying this one walk will take all the pain away but it’s a start.”
Join the Brave for Breakfast team on Saturday, October 13th at the Heartstrings 14th Annual Walk of Remembrance and Hope! We live with loss and that takes STRENGTH. We never forget our babies and that takes HEART. We face life without them and that takes COURAGE! We are BRAVE!
