Leukemia and lymphoma are types of blood cancers that affect all families and all ages. The largest organization providing awareness, support for patients and families, ground-breaking research and the ongoing search for cures to blood cancers is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org).
While there are certainly many opportunities throughout the year to support the LLS, I am starting a month-long campaign to support my amazing sister-in-law, Caitlin Buchanan, who has been battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma since January 2017 and is beginning a new stage of treatment this week. The goal of this campaign is to raise $1,000 during the month of February to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For Caitlin and the other brave patients and families battling blood cancers today, now is the perfect time to show your support and love. And as luck would have it for us, February 4 is World Cancer Day.
Let’s do this together! What does this campaign consist of? Each day, I will be running, walking or whatever I have to do to (!) to exercise for at least one mile. I see this routine as a daily opportunity to do what I can to support Caitlin and all other patients and families battling blood cancers today. Some days of this journey won’t be pretty, but we’ll do it together. If you are unable to donate, then please run with me and do what you can to raise awareness for this important cause. It doesn’t have to be much - even $5 makes a difference!
Thank you so much for your support!
