My name is Brandon Monaghan. I am currently a Denver Firefighter. Prior to becoming a firefighter I was a police officer for the city of Northglenn, and a Deputy Sheriff in Adams County Colorado. Before starting my careers in civil service I served in the United States Coast Guard. It has always been my goal to serve my country and my community in any way I can. The hardest thing I’ve had to deal in these careers has always been seeing how devastating line of duty deaths are and how much impact they have on the community, and most of all the family of the fallen who now has to pick up the pieces and move on without the support of there loved one. I recently learned about a phenomenal organization called The Tunnels 2 Towers Foundation, that helps families of deceased fire fighters, police officers, and military service members by paying off there mortgages when the service member dies in the line of duty so the families are not left with that burden. As soon as I heard about the foundation and what they do for fallen heroes I knew in my heart I wanted to help bring more awareness to there cause and also raise money to help them. I am going to be competing in the 2020 Ironman in Tulsa, OK on May 30th. This is my first Iron Man and my training for the race will be from January 1st to May 30th, and in that time I want to raise 25,000.00 for the Tunnels 2 Towers Foundation. This is only a very small token of my appreciation to an organization that goes above and beyond for fallen heroes every day. I ask for any support towards my goal that you can offer. Even if you can’t donate, please share the fundraiser link so others that may want to donate can see it. Thank you so much for any contributions to this incredible cause.
