It’s Spelling Bee time again for the Bozeman Schools Foundation! Bozeman High School's Team "Honey, We Shrunk the Kids" is raising funds to support our spelling team in the 12th Annual Adult Spelling Bee benefitting the Bozeman Schools Foundation. As you may know, Bozeman High is shrinking their kid population and bee-coming 2 high schools next year, but we are still One Bozeman.
Did you know our team has boasted such awards as “TOP educator team” and “Best Costume” more than once? Remember "Bee-ber Fever", the "Zom-bees" and "Beam Me Up Scotty?".
Who are we? Heidi, Hilary, and Jennie - Just three spell-crazy English teachers from Bozeman High who love to compete in this annual event. Many people ask us why...and the reason is simple. We believe in the mission of the Bozeman Schools Foundation. We believe in funding teacher spark grants for innovative educational projects. We believe in providing every first grader in Bozeman with a special book each year to promote literacy in our community. And - most importantly - we understand the value that the "Worthy Student Scholarships" provide for our students. While many members of the community appreciate these scholarships, as high school teachers, we get to have input in who receives the awards, and we get to see the smiles on the recipients' faces when their integrity, strong character, and hard work is rewarded. We appreciate the difference the scholarship money makes in the lives of our high school students as they continue their education beyond our walls.
