This evening I went to Lincoln School's Science Night in Brookline with Boston University's Women in Chemistry (BUWIC) organization and met many families who were excited to support the West End House!

This year I will be supporting the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Allston-Brighton by running the 2019 Boston Marathon! I am really excited to join the team and to get to know the West End House community even more!
The West End House in Allston-Brighton is one of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Boston and the largest youth development agency in the area where a multitude of students go to after school. They provide a variety of outcomes-driven programs to more than 1,700 youth between the age of 7 and 24 residing the most under-resourced communities in Boston.
Since moving to Boston about three and a half years ago, I have been volunteering at the West End House through Boston University’s Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (GWISE) organization. Every week GWISE runs a girls science club where students take part in fun, hands-on activities. During my first year, I worked with the elementary school club and within my second and third year I helped start and co-lead a middle school version known as Girls with Goggles. Our ultimate goals are to help young girls gain an in-depth understanding of scientific concepts and engineering principles, excite the students about science and engineering, and encourage them to pursue a STEM-related career.
One of the reasons why I love running in Boston is because it has helped me to appreciate where God has lead me. I was hoping and didn't know when I would get a chance to run the Boston Marathon, but by working with the West End House, this has been an even bigger blessing. I would also highly recommend supporting the West End House by working one-on-one with the amazing staff, volunteers, and students that fill their home in Allston-Brighton!
Thank you for all of your support!
