My dad grew up on the west side of Chicago. He came from humble beginnings but a strong support system nonetheless. Family, friends, and an organization that had a history of helping kids reach their full potential - regardless of their background. Now, 45 years later, my dad still talks about how a sponsor through the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago took a chance on him and gave him the opportunity to do more. It started at a small summer camp that made him feel "rich" in so many ways and he has passed that same feeling on to me, my brother, and everyone he comes in contact with. So this year, I decided it was time to run for a greater cause other than myself. Although not my first marathon, it will be my first in my home city and it felt only right to run for this great organization. My dad has been my biggest fan biking alongside me in my last few marathons. This organization allows us to be fans for so many more in an even more impactful way. I ask that you join me in supporting BGCC this year and helping me cheer on every kid that needs it... Thank you all! - Frankie
