YOUR SUPPORT IS IMPORTANT.
The iBELIEVE Foundation recently announced the unfortunate cancellation of its longstanding, traditional Summer Workshop programs as a precaution for the safety of student participants and volunteer staff in light of complications surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. For nearly a decade, these summer camps have provided expense free development opportunities to young leaders across the Appalachian region.
iBELIEVE is dedicated to upholding its mission to provide learning opportunities for the next generation of student leaders. We are facing a unique challenge as many similar organizations and programs utilize virtual alternatives. iBELIEVE, however is continuing to construct creative approaches to address resource gaps in Appalachia.
“Our students don’t have connectivity, so they don’t have computers, so they aren’t able to learn digital literacy necessary to get opportunities in the 21st century.” (1)
In absence of summer workshops, The iBELIEVE Foundation is working to launch a unique program that meets students where they are, to analyze real world needs and guide local community impact, driven by student led solutions. Now, more than ever, our students need the opportunity to connect with a program purposefully designed to address the existing resource gaps in Appalachia.
