Bottom Line is dedicated to helping first-generation students from low-income backgrounds get into college, graduate and go far in life. Our vision is to dramatically transform urban communities with thousands of new career-ready college graduates. As one of the first community-based organizations to focus on college completion, we now operate regional programs in Boston, where we were founded in 1997, New York City and Chicago that collectively serve over 7,800 students. As we grow, our results remain strong. With almost 2,800 alums, our historical graduation rate is over 78%, almost 20ppts above the national average. In Massachusetts this year, we will serve 400 high school students and 3,100 college students as they earn their degree through structured and intensive advising.
Bottom Line's 2019 Boston Marathon Team (Team Go Far) will run 26.2 miles on April 15th as a way to contribute to our organization and the students we support. Team Go Far aims to raise $100,000 this year, which will make a huge impact on our organization. We hope you'll consider making a contribution to the team or a specific runner. Each member of Team Go Far has an interesting story and a personal motivation for our cause. We encourage you to get to know them. Whatever you can contribute will help our students get in, graduate, and go far!
