Thanks for visiting my donation page! I'm thrilled to tell you that on April 20, 2020, I will be running the 124th Boston Marathon to support the Boston Public Library!!! As many of you know, my passion for running (and reading) has grown over the past several years. On Nov. 3 I ran the NYC Marathon and also recently ran the Boston Half Marathon. That experience fueled my dream to run the Boston Marathon. I am thrilled to have the chance to fulfill that dream while supporting such an important pillar of the greater Boston community.
The Boston Public Library (BPL) was established in 1848, and is one of the oldest libraries in the United States. Today, there are 25 branches that serve nearly 4 million visitors per year. The BPL provides services for children, families, and peoples of all ages, welcoming everyone equally regardless of gender, race, age, socio-economic status, religion, nationality, and sexual orientation. And in today's digital age, libraries remain so important as information hubs for resources accessible to all. The funds raised in this campaign will go towards enhancing and enriching the BPL's after-school programs, which, true to the Library’s mission, are always “Free to All.” Specifically, these proceeds will be going toward the library's youth programming, including the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts, Cooking with Miss Debbie, Boston Ballet, Learning by Design, and Homework Help.
Thank you so much for your consideration - any donation, no matter what size, will help me and the BPL team get closer to our goal. You have followed me throughout this running journey so far, and I truly appreciate all of your support. I have committed to raising $7500, and I would welcome your help. I do not get any personal benefit from this fundraising other than the privilege of registering for the race. To learn more about everything that your donation will support, feel free to ask me directly, or visit the Boston Public Library at bpl.org.
Thank you for supporting me in my Boston Public Library Marathon Team campaign.
