Boston Partners in Education has changed my life in many ways, but perhaps the biggest impact was in 2010, when Boston Partners gave me the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon.
It was my first marathon, and my first real fundraising challenge. It taught me so many things - that I was stronger than I realized, that my friends and family are incredibly supportive, and that seemingly impossible goals can be achieved with planning and training.
Ten years later, those lessons have helped me over and over again, both personally, and as an academic mentor - because those are the same lessons we try to share with our students. You can do this. You have support and love. And you can achieve your goals with a good plan and practice.
So, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of my first (but not last) marathon, and my 14th anniversary as a staff member, my 19th(!) as a mentor, and my 3rd as Executive Director, I'm running Boston for Boston Partners again.
The more we're able to raise, the more students we'll be able to help share those messages with, and help them to realize their own dreams.
Thank you for being part of that!
