I am excited to have the opportunity to run the 2019 Boston Marathon as a fundraiser for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP)!
BHCHP was established in 1985 with the mission of providing high quality health care for all homeless individuals and families in the greater Boston Area. It has grown to provide care for over 12,000 people each year at over 60 sites in homeless shelters, hospitals, temporary housing, and in the streets around the greater Boston area. Here is the BHCHP website if you would like to read more: https://www.bhchp.org
This year I am working for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) at the Barbara McInnis House (BMH). The BMH is a place of respite for homeless patients who have health issues that are difficult to manage on the streets /shelters. We take care of homeless patients after hospital discharge for continued treatment, stabilization, and rehab, as well as patients struggling with management of chronic diseases on the street such as substance use disorders, psychiatric diseases, diabetes, HIV, cancer treatment, and wound care. I work with a dedicated team of social workers, nurse practicioners, nurses, and administrators to ensure our homeless patients receive quality care that meets their needs.
I hope you will support me as I train over the next 20 weeks (in the long cold Boston winter) and run my FIRST marathon in the Boston 2019 race to give back to this wonderful organization that meets homeless patients where they are and provides dignified care.
My goal is to raise $15,000 by April 15th.
WE CAN DO IT!
Thank you for your support!
