Relay Iowa is an adventure relay inteneded to offer a challenge to runners and financial support to partner charities. Runners commit to running 339 miles with their team for 3 days and 2 nights. It is a challenge that makes the world a better place!
Team Born To Run has run this event 9 of the last 10 years, missing only the very first one. We are excited to participate again, and love crossing the great state of Iowa with the rest of the crazies that join us. Restoring Hope, the orphanage in South Africa that we are raising funds for, is a special place for me (Greg, the captain) since one of the children's shelters there is named after my sister, Jill Raine, who passed away 5 years ago. She and her husband Bill started Relay Iowa, and I'm thrilled to be able to run the event again in her memory.
Born To Run has always been mostly a Chicago-based team, with many of my friends from Oak Park and also my colleagues from IMC Financial Markets joining me year after year. Many years, we have enough runners to form 2 or 3, or even 6 teams! Teams like Thunder Road, No Surrender, Talia Strong, (Un)Defeeted Soles, and others have formed over the years, carrying on the tradition and giving many more runners a chance to join us.
Thank you for your donation and for supporting Relay Iowa!
