Whats my new adventure??? On Fathers Day weekend, June 13-16, Mike and I will be embarking on an epic journey! We will be assisting paddleboarders from Bimini, Bahamas to Lake Worth, Florida in an 80-mile adventure! WHY, you ask? To help raise money and awareness for Piper's Angels Foundation. This foundation was founded in order to improve the lives of people in the cystic fibrosis community.
The Crossing For A Cure adventure is a long-distance endurance paddle challenge and international championship race that takes paddlers 80 miles across the Gulf Stream from Bimini in the Bahamas back to the Florida mainland. The event was inspired because of the incredible health benefits of the ocean for those living with cystic fibrosis, a terminal lung disease. The founder of Crossing for a Cure, Travis Suit, has a daughter named Piper, who was diagnosed with CF at the age of four.
As all of you know, I was diagnosed with CF as a infant but now, 43 years old and 3 1/2 years after my double lung transplant, I am living life to the fullest, thanks to my donor, my amazing medical team and my always supportive family and friends. And I feel that now is the time for me to give back!
Here's where YOU can help! I have 50 days to raise only $2500! I know we can do it! Please take a second to click on the 'DONATE' button so we can help those in the CF community, like ME!
On June 14-15, our boat, Bonus Time, will be supporting the paddlers as they make their way across the open ocean. We are so excited to share in this amazing and memorable event and once completed, we will share all our memories with you on social media.
Thank you in advance for your love and support! Donate TODAY so people with CF can have a bright future TOMORROW! 💜♻️🏄♀️🏄🏼♂️☀️🐚🥰
