The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation was founded to raise funds for therapy scholarships to be granted to individuals suffering from Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). While scientists, doctors and researchers around the world seek a cure for spinal cord and other neurological injuries, the responsibility of rehabilitation therapists is to keep those with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries healthy and fit until a cure is found, or in a lifetime of fitness.
Unfortunately, there are injured individuals without the healthcare benefits or private resources required for ongoing therapy and exercise. Donations to the Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation will make it possible for people (without other resources) to get vital physical and occupational therapy services they need and the hope that goes along with striving for and reaching goals.
To fund our scholarships, we are planning Bocce Palooza XII, our twelfth annual event. We owe thanks to our previous event sponsors and supporters for our continued success at Bocce Palooza. Thanks to their generosity, we have raised over $500,000 since inception, and awarded nearly 80 grants to provide therapy to individuals without the resources to procure the much needed and essential services to achieve optimal independence and quality of life.
Bocce Palooza XII is set for Saturday, March 9, 2019. We’ll continue the popular Bocce tournament (and awarding of The Googasian Cup), and, of course, food and drink. We also plan to have some of the grantees with us.
