Dear B’nai Simcha Families, Grandparents, Alumni, and Friends,
These last six months have been filled with uncertainties for all of us. From work and school, to engaging in our everyday routines, our worlds have been turned upside down. It has been challenging now, more than ever, to stay connected with other families and friends, and feel part of both the Jewish and B’nai Simcha Preschool community as a whole. Did you know that B’nai Simcha Jewish Community Preschool is one of the only Jewish preschools in the San Gabriel Valley? That means that we are the first and likely only stepping stone for your child to receive an early Jewish education.
We usually send our annual appeal hoping for financial help to keep the school running and get ahead for the next year; this year is different. This year our school is in an existential crisis and is in need of CRITICAL and URGENT help in order to keep the school alive and thriving! As a consequence of COVID-19 and due to strict CDC/Licensing guidelines of no more than 12 children per class, our enrollment, and therefore our tuition income this year is less than any prior year. WE NEED YOUR HELP; we need help paying teachers the salaries they deserve and work so hard for, we need help buying cleaning supplies to keep our kids and staff safe and healthy, we need equipment to help educate and keep our kids engaged.
The Callahan Matching Gift Challenge: Judy and Phil Callahan have generously supported and contributed to B’nai Simcha in so many ways throughout the years. Judy was the director of the preschool for 30 years and left a lasting impression on the community and the school. This year, they are once again stepping up to challenge the community with a $5,000 matching donation challenge. For every dollar donated to B’nai before September 28, 2020 (the end of Yom Kippur), the Callahan’s will match it dollar-for-dollar, for up to $5,000! Their extremely generous donation is being made in honor of our Director, Jen Leonard and the entire B’nai staff in recognition for all of their tireless efforts, time and dedication while working towards the safe reopening of the school and its continued educational endeavors (both on-site and virtually).
In addition to the generosity of the Callahan’s, we need to raise much more for the school to continue to properly and safely operate this school year. Our goal this year is to reach $100,000 and this will only be possible with your help and support. PLEASE help our children have a Brighter B’nai Future!
Thank you in advance to all of our families, grandparents, alumni, and the greater Jewish Community for supporting the B’nai Brighter Future Fund. This year, your help and support will allow us to continue to provide for our B’nai Simcha community by educating and supporting our children in every way possible. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Let’s keep B’nai alive and thriving.
On behalf of the B’nai Simcha Parent Board of Directors, our wonderful executive director, teachers, and staff, we want to thank you for being a part of this community and for your continued support of our school.
