WE'RE SWEATING FOR GOOD
The weekend of May 23-24 would have been the annual Green Mountain Run when all Burke Mountain Academy students and staff run an over 24 hour relay from Massachussets to the Canadian Border.
While we are very disappointed to not be able to run together, the senior class decided we want to harness the power of our sweat to do something positive this Monday, May 25th.
Each student will be choosing a physical activity to do as much of as possible in an 8 hour window. We will be asking for pledges to support the Vermont Food Bank.
Some potential activities could be running, biking, or hiking as far as you can, or doing as many reps of a specific excercise in the allotted time. There can either be flat donations or pledges for money per rep or mile accomplished.
WHO WE'RE HELPING
All of the dollars we raise will support the Vermont Food Bank and their mission to make sure nobody in the state will go hungry. This cause is especially important with the impact that COVID-19 has had on the local economy.
HOW TO FOLLOW OUR EFFORT
We'll be sharing pictures and videos of the event on Instagram so make sure you follow @burkemoutainacademy.
We've partnered with Positive Tracks, an organization that teaches young people how to sweat for good. In addition to supporting our effort, they'll be matching up to $100 we raise for the Vermont Food Bank.
We can't thank you enough for joining us in our fight to combat hunger.
