This year marks the Austin Book Arts Center’s fifth anniversary. We are pleased to announce BLUE SKIES, a virtual fundraising campaign. We hope to raise $10,000 to recoup a portion of lost income due to the Covid-19 pandemic and forced shut-down of operations.
Funds will ensure that ABAC can continue to promote literacy and creativity through workshops in book arts for people of all ages. With your support, we are confident ABAC will weather the storm. Please help ensure BLUE SKIES ahead for ABAC by donating today!

About the Austin Book Arts Center
The Austin Book Arts Center (ABAC) is the only non-profit organization in Central Texas that promotes educational programs in the traditional book arts, including printing, bookbinding, and papermaking. ABAC formed in 2014 when a group of artists and craftspeople came together with a simple but powerful dream; to build a space where people of all ages and backgrounds could use their hands to express their creativity by learning to create bound objects of beauty.
The Central Texas community embraced our mission and ABAC has grown steadily over the last five years. In 2019, the Center relocated to a larger studio and began adding workshops, studio rental, and community outreach events.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the required shut-down of operations, ABAC has been forced to cancel all in-person classes, studio rentals, and events.
Thanks to the dedication of ABAC staff and volunteers, we began offering online workshops, but we still need help to recoup a portion of lost income and ensure that we can continue to offer this unique experience and resource to the community of Central Texas and beyond.
Your contribution will ensure BLUE SKIES ahead for the Austin Book Arts Center, and help us achieve the following goals:
Sustainability - ensure that the Austin Book Arts Center will continue to be a unique and vibrant contributor to the arts, crafts, and creative environment of Austin and Central Texas for years to come.
Diversity - help us to involve people of all ages and backgrounds that make our community so rich. The love of creativity and the joy of book arts skills should know no boundaries based on cultures or ages or abilities.
Access - help us grow our services in new and inclusive ways that permit remote learning, online classes, K-12 outreach, DIY kits, and other non-traditional options for education and classes.
