On May 5th, I am riding in the TD 5 Boro Bike tour with United Way, in an effort to help low income New Yorkers go from barely surviving to thriving! This is America's largest bike ride, and I will be RIDING UNITED.
At Bloomingdale's, I am the co-lead of the b.Women Employee Resource Group. b.Women has partnered with United Way for a variety of philanthropic efforts and events. I am so excited to be RIDING UNITED with their team to support such an incredible cause. United Way is working to eradicate hunger and homelessness in New York City and they can do it with your help and support! Please help me reach my personal fundraising goal of $1,000 by donating to support my ride!
"New York is the land of opportunity where many of us came to build our lives. We ride the subway together, we go to the same bagel shops, bodegas, and pizza joints. But as we head home our paths diverge significantly.
Some New Yorkers pick up their kids from private school and return to a comfortable, secure home. Others go on to a second or third job, wait for hours at food pantries to ensure their kids are fed and at the end of the day, return to a shelter or a home with overdue rent and no books, long after their children have gone to sleep.
United Way of New York City knows New Yorkers can do better. We go after our community’s toughest challenges, and on May 5th we will RIDE UNITED to help ensure no New Yorker is ever one paycheck away from hunger and homelessness. To create a city where children and families can dare to dream and build a future for themselves.
We know we're not the only ones who believe in the impact we can make—together.
Let’s RIDE UNITED!"
