When my daddy was diagnosed with cancer some years ago, the cancer support center near his home really helped him deal with his diagnosis and to learn more about his treatment options. He enjoyed participating in cooking and art classes and ran a couple of 5Ks that they sponsored. Their support groups and programs were an important part of the final few years of his life. It was two years ago tonight that he died, and though it may not have been the cancer that killed him, it could have if the cancer support center had not been there for him.
In his honor, I am participating in the Run/Walk for weSPARK. I hope you will consider supporting my efforts by making a donation or joining in the race. Big or small, all donations are appreciated and contribute to the work of weSPARK Cancer Support Center. Like the cancer support center my daddy went to, weSPARK provides free services and programs to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones. The programs and services help to allieviate the physical and emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis.
