BLISS is an urban farm and community green space inspiring Black, Indigenous, and all People of Color (BIPOC) across Baltimore City to find nature where they are and empowering them to explore further. BLISS stands for Baltimore Living In Sustainable Simplicity.
Since 2019, we’ve created a true community space with farm animals, native plant meadows, food production, children's activities, demonstration gardens, and environmental education.
Now, we need your help to continue on to our next stage of development. This campaign will help fund the renovation of the vacant house immediately adjacent to the farm.
You have the opportunity to help us renovate the facility that will serve as the anchor of our entire BLISS Meadows project and create the space, where we can offer indoor classroom space, bathrooms, a community kitchen (for neighbors to truly experience a farm to table meal), and secure storage for our program tools and equipment.
With your help in 2019, we were able to raise over $60,000 in just one month to purchase the vacant property adjacent to our urban farm, BLISS Meadows.
Since then, we have been working diligently to raise the capital needed to fully fund the renovation of this vacant structure into a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified educational center with a teaching kitchen for us to expand our neighborhood-focused nutritional and environmental programming.
Over the past 2 years, these 10 acres have become a staple of community, inspiration, and growth in our northeast Baltimore neighborhood.
How You Can Help
Your donation will help turn the BLISS Meadows vision into a reality: a community invested farm, farm house, and forest patch in Baltimore City where people come together to learn and appreciate growing, harvesting and preparing crops as they develop a growth mindset focused on sustainability.
With your generosity, we’ll create a space for the community to thrive in Northeast Baltimore. Are you with us? We need your help to raise the remainder of funds for the renovation by the end of February. Then, we can immediately secure our contractors to begin the work.
From all of us at BLISS, we thank you for your unwavering support to make this a space where people can come together and rise.
