On February 14, 2020, our non-profit organization was blessed with an opportunity to expand our programming at 507 Balboa Street, Greensboro, NC. This campus would enable us to continue our mandate to help eradicate hunger, decrease educational inequity, financial and social disparities that exist in the communities we serve.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit all of us hard. Some more than others. Due to this horrific situation, which I pray has not affected you or your loved ones, it has put a wrench in the acquisition of this much-needed community-based facility. Coupled with the current economic condition with job losses, business closings, and gathering restrictions, it has temporarily hindered our move into purpose.
But guess what? The economy may have slowed....but our MISSION has not! Yes, we all have had to reconstruct the delivery of our services to a virtual platform. We had a very successful virtual STEM summer camp. Kids built their own motor that they got to keep.
Rest assured, this too shall pass. At the Nehemiah Center, we are preparing for our NEW normal. Now, more than ever, the services we provide are in high demand. From robotic exploration summer camp to teen summer employment; from our food pantry services to apprenticeship training; from financial empowerment to creating jobs.
And right now, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Kindly consider donating at least $50 towards our cause. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Over the past 12 years, we have offered STEM, robotic, I.T. training, and certifications which enable us to be change agents for the entire family unit.
Feel free to check out our website to learn more about our dynamic and life-changing programs. Our ultimate goal is to establish a STEM Academy for minorities. Where children, teens, and adults can acquire the skill set needed in order to become more marketable and gainfully employed. Thereby, creating diversity in these lucrative fields.
The facility cost $1.5 million. We have $25,000 for the down payment. There are repairs that need to be done and we have volunteers who have already committed to assisting us with the repairs. Funds raised will be used to purchase the facility. Your donation will allow us to focus and concentrate on providing services to the community.
Many of you have been blessed, please consider blessing others with your donation or by becoming a corporate sponsor. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible and will be sown in fertile soil. Each contributor's name will be displayed on a brick at our facility. You can assist us in manifesting purpose. Then we can ALL proclaim - 'Delayed but NOT denied".
Join us for this good work. Help us fulfill the vision and our motto: "Rebuilding & Restoring Communities & Families". And together, we will be creating unity and equality. A place of hope and where Black Lives Matter!
Thank you for your time.
We pray for continued blessings for you and your family. Please STAY SAFE and STAY STRONG!
