#BLK A World-Wide Movement is a feature documentary following nationwide protests that were ignited by the recent public lynching of George Floyd. After years of systemic and unjust murders of Black people at the hands of the police, the people simply said, "Enough". What started as a weekend project became a daily report that quickly and violently turned into something greater. The story continues to grow and shift as we move through live-feed journalism from all over the world, and daily cinema work documenting the ever-changing tides.
Influencer/Co-Director Maria Marin aka LA China has taken to the streets nearly every day to off-set Media and share the truth in real time. While Co-Director Anthony Tackett has been filming cinematic style and leading a collective of filmmakers who are dedicated to following the true story of the situation. Capturing the stories from within the protests, The Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) along with daily marches, inspirational speakers and the call to action. After over 50 days, the movement continues to evolve and live on beyond CHOP. Our commitment to document will continue until a peaceful resolution is found, or will it?
It takes a lot to go out into the field and film every day for over 50 days. We have captured and partnered with Influencers and live-streamers for well over 1000 hours of footage. Please stand with us as we continue along this journey. We have over seven dedicated camera operators, five producers, and a large network of social media influencers from all over the world that are adding into this collective gumbo. Please support us as we step beyond the looking-glass.
It will take a village. You all are part of this village and by supporting us you will allow us to continue filming and telling this story.
