On February 14th, history will be made with the first ever Black Girls Day at the Capitol. As part of the official countdown launch for the "Here Comes the Boom: An Assembly for Black Women and Girls," Black Girls will be going to the Florida State Capitol in order to learn how laws are made, how they are impacted, and how to lobby their representatives.
Even within immigration, it is all too common to erase the narratives of Black Immigrants whether they are from various African countries, Afro-Latinx, from the Caribbean, or elsewhere as part of the African Diaspora. Therefore, the Broward Immigrant Justice Coalition wishes to support this endeavor being led by the Miami Workers Center and a coalition of organizations as it's important to uplift our Black Immigrant Girls and Black Girls in general!
Monies collected will go towards this mobilization. Also, if you'd like to donate directly or to the Assembly itself, you may do so here: https://www.crowdrise.com/herecomestheboommia
