Every year, laws are filed and passed that have detrimental impacts on the conditions of our healthcare, criminal justice system, immigration, ability to love freely, and our ability to make reproductive choices.
When these laws chip away at our daily freedoms, we know that they disproportionately impact Black women and girls throughout the state.
Last year during Florida’s Legislative Session, The Femme Agenda, Black Girls Matter MIA, and several other statewide partners gathered 50 Black women and girls from South Florida and 30 Black women and girls from across the state to raise our voices in the Capitol. We met with legislators and demanded that they consider and prioritize Black women and girls with every law that they filed and passed.
This year, the Femme Agenda and our partners are doing it again with a more focused vision.
From March 13-15th, in the Florida State Capitol, our Black girls will learn about how laws are made, how legislation impacts them, and how to lobby their representatives. And we need you to help get them there.
Donate today to build the political power of Black women and girls in the state of Florida. A Power that is defined by us and for us.
If we truly believe that “when Black women win, we all win,” we must demand that this be reflected by centering Black women and girls in our work and in our politics.
