I am both excited and honored to be running on Team BIDMC for the upcoming 2020 Boston Marathon. I have always dreamed of running the marathon to support an organization that is impactful and dear to my heart, and when the opportunity arose to run for BIDMC I could not think of a better organization to support.
My relationship with BIDMC has been ongoing since 6/30/1988 when my mother gave birth to me at BIDMC. In fact, not only did she choose BIDMC as the best place to bring me into the world, but my mother has continuously worked at the hospital in various roles for over 40 years. Her dedication to the patients that BIDMC serves is an inspiration, and by raising funds for the Annual Fund it is my hope that I can have a small impact in supporting her mission to help those in need.
Being an active adult involved in many sports, I have had the unfortunate frustration over the years of dealing with multiple sports injuries from a torn meniscus to a pneumo-thorax and fractured ribs. Every time that I am in need of care, from the small to the more major things, BIDMC and the staff of great nurses and doctors at the hospital have been there to provide me with the best treatment possible. I am truly lucky to live in a great city that is known worldwide for providing top notch medical care and at the top of the hospitals in our city in terms of care is BIDMC. I am overwhelmed with joy and pride to be able to raise funds that will go directly to providing the necessary services and facilities for others in need of the great care at BIDMC.
I am very appreciative of everyone that considers donating to my fundraising effort.
No amount is too small, and every dollar will go a long way in supporting the incredible team at the hospital. Thank you for your kind donations and I look forward to keeping everyone informed of not only my efforts to complete my first marathon, but more importantly my goal to raise $10,000 for BIDMC and The Annual Fund!
Team BIDMC is running to support a variety of programs, including the Cancer Center, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Klarman Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the Annual Fund, kidney disease research, and Bowdoin Street Health Center's Healthy Champions Program. Several of our runners are also supporting our Needham, Milton, and Plymouth affiliates. Thank you for your support!
The Annual Fund provides flexible funding to advance the priorities and projects that support our mission of providing unparalleled care for all of our patients, teaching the next generation of physicians, and finding cures for the most devastating diseases of our time.
