We are grade 12 students at St. Francis Xavier High School participating in our third year of bike-a-thon! Bike-a-thon is a 24 hour fundraiser event where our team along with many others raise money for the Dreams for Kids fund, the Sign of hope campaign and towards our own students in need of support.
As this is our third and final year taking part in our schools bike-a-thon, our team would like to go out with a bang! Last year we raised over $4000 for the cause, ranking in the top three highest fund raising teams. This year we plan to work even harder to raise money for those in need with a new goal of $5000! Your donation will have a role in helping us reach this goal! Any donation is appreciated and plays a part in bettering the lives of local adults and children in need of support.
More about where the funds are going:
The Dreams for Kids Campaign provides hot lunches, mental health supports, and emergency supports for students in need in our own Edmonton school district.
Sign of Hope Campaign provides services and programs for people dealing with addictions, domestic violence, elder abuse, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, refugees, and street youth. The funds going to our school, St. Francis Xavier, will be used to help students who are struggling. It will help to provide food for students in need, bus tickets, subsidized athletic and grad fees.
Along with these Charities we are also raising this money to help those in our own community. Part of our funds raised go towards fellow students at FX who are in need of support. These funds provides each student with the support they need to reach their full potential at school.
