COVID-19 poses extreme risks for people already living in precarity. The BFC is positioned to help now.
The Berkeley Free Clinic has been a trusted community resource, providing zero-cost, accessible-to-all medical care for over 50 years. While the Clinic has limited its in-person activities for public safety, we are urgently providing outreach and remote services to help the most vulnerable communities during this critical time.
Our dedicated volunteers are already trained and will continue to provide free of charge services during these unprecedented times. New funds will allow us to maintain our current outreach activities and remote services by covering the cost of supplies and needed technology. A coalition of outreach teams are delivering critical hygiene and medical supplies to unsheltered populations.** Peer counselors are lending an open ear to anyone who calls our support line needing to be heard. Social assistance enrollment counselors are guiding individuals and families facing financial challenges that threaten their health and wellness. And the help desk (Information Resource Collective) continues to expertly deliver referrals and navigation services, connecting clients with currently available community resources.
Volunteers are working tirelessly to continue providing free, client-centered services to underserved and marginalized communities. Despite the constraints placed by shelter-in-place mandate, the Berkeley Free Clinic is here for you! Please help us, help those who need it the most by supporting our cause today.
