Bernie Sanders Doll Raffle to Benefit the National Gaucher's Foundation in Honor of Zoey Perlin

As many of you know, Zoey was diagnosed with Gaucher's disease type 1 shortly after birth.  Please see below in the Story section to learn more about Gaucher's.

Zoey's great aunt Helene has generously created and donated a Bernie Sanders crotched doll to be raffled off.  Raffle tickets cost $25. Please be sure to select the raffle ticket option when making the selection. These Bernie Sanders dolls are selling like crazy! What better way to get your Bernie than by helping out a charity!

There is also an opportunity to make a donation as well. Please consider  either making a donation or purchasing raffle tickets and help in research and finding a cure ♥️

*Raffle will be pulled at 7:00 pm on February 15th, 2021

Story

Gaucher disease is a genetic disorder where fat-laden Gaucher cells build up in areas like the spleen, liver and bone marrow. Gaucher disease is caused by low levels of glucocerebrosidase (GCase), an enzyme that breaks down a fatty chemical in the body called glucocerebroside. Gaucher cells are normal scavenger cells called macrophages that become full of unprocessed glucocerebroside. Gaucher cells accumulate primarily in the spleen, liver and bone marrow, causing organ inflammation and dysfunction. Those with Gaucher's disease may have the following effects on their body; anemia, fatigue, bone pain/easily fractured bones, spleen/liver enlargement and bleeding or bruising problems.
