Hi friends! I’ll be running the the Berkeley Biofreeze 5K on Nov. 17 to fundraise the Berkeley Public Schools Fund.
For those of you who know me, running has been a very important part of my life. (It’s arguably the only hobby I’ve retained through law school, haha). For the rest of the school year, I hope to channel my fitness goals to challenge myself to running competitively in races across the Bay Area. Please support me as I work my way toward the goal of running a half marathon next year :)
I’ve increasingly thought about how I can incorporate this personal passion into a project that can create a positive impact on my community. To contribute, even in some small way, I hope to make this the first of a series of partnerships with non-profit organizations bridging the access gap to critical resources in the area.
The Berkeley Public Schools Fund is a non-profit that directly supports educational programs to Berkeley’s Pre-K-12 public school students. Last year, the Fund raised $892,000 to provide educational grants for students to engage in creative, holistic, and career-building activities both in and outside the classroom.
Please join me in extending our thanks to the public school faculty who strive to foster an enriching environment for its students. Any contributions are welcome :)
The Berkeley Public Schools Fund's mission is to inspire and empower an extraordinary public education for every child. With contributions from the Berkeley community, we invest directly in teachers’ ideas and creativity every year through Schools Fund grants and volunteers.
Since 1983, we have directed over $12 million and 750,000 hours of volunteer time into Berkeley schools.
Our EIN number is 94-2918219
